Lucas Wennersten specializes is in working with high-net-worth individuals in the U.S. and Canada who have cross-border complexities. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, he received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Business Economics from the University of San Diego in 2004 while on a baseball scholarship. Lucas has worked in the financial services industry since 2007. Lucas began working in Canada-U.S. cross-border wealth management in 2014. He earned the Certified Financial Planner™ designation in the U.S. in 2014, and then in Canada in 2016. He earned his CFA charter in 2022. Lucas has a shared experience with most of his clients in that he has moved to Canada, and back to the U.S. Lucas moved his wife and three children to Toronto, Canada in 2019 on a work permit. His youngest son was born in Toronto and is a dual citizen of Canada and the U.S. After being on COVID lockdown in Toronto for over two years, Lucas and his wife decided to move their family back to Arizona to be closer to family. They are extremely grateful for having the opportunity to live in Canada for a time, which allowed them to experience being an immigrant and acclimating to life in another country. Although Lucas had been practicing Canada-U.S. wealth management for five years and had already earned the CFP® designation in both the U.S. and Canada, he learned things through completing the move in both directions that he could not have learned otherwise.
